EagleBots Earn World Championship Innovate Award

EagleBots FTC Team 13532 earned the Innovate Award sponsored by RTX in the Lovelace Division at the 2026 FIRST® Tech Challenge World Championship.

The award recognized our team’s creative and student-led robot design for the DECODE season, including our custom swerve drive, two-stage intake, retractable flywheel shooter, and ramp-based endgame system. These designs came through months of CAD work, prototyping, testing, and iteration, with students developing more than 72 custom robot components.

As an open 4-H FIRST Tech Challenge team based in Iowa City, EagleBots serves students from multiple schools and homeschool communities. This season, our 24 active members continued to grow as builders, programmers, designers, leaders, and ambassadors for STEM through competitions, workshops, demonstrations, and community outreach.

We are incredibly thankful for the mentors, sponsors, families, and community partners who helped make this season possible.

  • STORY
    This is a story about a boy who faces the problem of finding a gift for his mother before Mother’s Day. Along the way he meets his mentor, Eagle. Together they discover the engineering process and how to persevere in the face of discouragement.
  • purpose
    This book was created to engage young readers and introduce them to the world of STEM through storytelling and problem-solving. By blending creativity with engineering, we aim to spark curiosity and confidence in students as they explore new ideas.

    The EagleBots FTC Team 13532 developed this book as part of our mission to inspire younger students and introduce them to FIRST® and engineering. Our goal is to encourage children to see themselves as future problem solvers, innovators, and engineers.
